Say cheeeese!

In the prime years of my youth, you wouldn’t catch me saying ‘cheese’ unless I was ordering a pizza. Why? Because I had crooked teeth.  In school I would see people with perfect, white, straight teeth and be envious. People are often drawn to the warmth of a smile, but I felt mine pushed them away. The very act of eating in public was a chore, weighed down by self-consciousness. The lack of my parents’ support meant braces were out of the question. However, the tide turned in my 40s when I stumbled upon Invisalign.. Expensive? Absolutely! However,  my insecurity was greater than my money. Now, I’m flashing my smile like it’s going out of style, and the only ‘cheese’ I’m worried about is the one on my pizza!
